The simplest definition of affirmations (and that helped me tremendously on my healing and manifesting journey; I learned this concept from Rhonda Byrne) is that affirmations are a form of thought.

When I heard Rhonda say that in one of her interviews, something inside me shifted.

I saw affirmations in an entirely new way. They no longer felt like another task…or some magic spells I had to recite according to complicated guidelines to hopefully change my life.

Instead, I saw affirmations as a natural and God-given way to shift my inner state quickly and feel good again. Because manifesting is all about feeling good.

Believe it or not, I struggled with affirmations before discovering this definition. I felt stuck asking all the questions, such as: “How many affirmations do I need? How long should I do them? What if they don’t work…?”

But when I discovered that positive affirmations are like conscious thoughts…everything changed for me. Here’s why…

We are always thinking some thoughts. Thoughts can be conscious or unconscious.

Obviously, since we want to manifest consciously and effectively and are on a path of healing, we want to be conscious of our thoughts.

Now, thoughts can make us feel a certain way and can also make us take certain actions.

Needless to say, we want to focus on good feelings and positive actions…

Because when your thoughts are negative or fear-based, it affects your energy too (and it’s hard to manifest consciously and effectively).

So…the moment you feel like your energy suffers, turn to positive affirmations that make you feel good and use them to slowly but surely change and shift your thoughts to more positive ones.

It’s very simple and very effective.

How to Use Affirmations to Block Negative Energy for Best Results

The best way to use affirmations is to incorporate them into your daily self-talk. You always talk to yourself, you are always thinking some thoughts…Why not talk yourself to desired outcomes, states, and realities?

Think about a time when you had lots of negative thoughts and felt bad…did you use a scripting technique to induce such a state?

No, all you did was talk to yourself and use negative affirmations internally. You didn’t write them down and didn’t recite them. You didn’t use any specific technique…

You just talked to yourself…and that was enough to make you feel bad and possibly manifest something you didn’t want…because you were unconscious. Now you know better!

The good news is that the power of love and love-based affirmations are much stronger than fear-based ones.

So, the moment you decide to incorporate more and more positive affirmations into your self-talk and shift your way out from negative states, the moment you realize your negative thoughts and states are not serving you…. you will be very successful at manifesting.

So, that’s the most effective way to use affirmations to block negative energy.

Make them a part of your self-talk and thinking processes.

With that little inner shift alone, you are good to go!

Now, additionally, you may want to use your affirmations in conjunction with any manifesting technique or ritual of your choice, such as:

scripting/journaling;

visualizing;

vision board;

creating manifestation lists;

manifestation meditation;

manifestation prayer.

But don’t force yourself into any technique if they don’t feel good to you. Manifesting and healing should feel like another thing to do, but something you live, embody and breathe!
